Distinguished Speaker’s Series: The Reform of Copyright – A discussion of international trends by Professor Daniel Gervais
The Distinguished Speaker Series marks the IPA’s continuous effort to bring world renowned thought leaders to share their views, insights and best practices in the rapidly evolving fields of IP and the innovation economy. As copyright reform is on the agenda of several nations around the world, the IPA is embarking on a series of talks on this topic in 2015, with the session by Professor Gervais as the first of such talks.
A total of 41 participants attended this by-invitation only event which was held on 12 February 2015.
IP Insights Seminar: Lunch Talk on the Future of Intellectual Property by Mr John Alty, Chief Executive and Comptroller General, UK Intellectual Property Office
IP Insights is a series of lectures organised by the IPA where IP experts from Singapore and around the world share their views on IP issues and challenges faced by businesses and IP professionals today.
The seminar, held on 13 March 2015, was jointly organised by the IPA and the UK Intellectual Property Office, with the support of British High Commission Singapore, and in conjunction with the Great British Week Singapore event which took place from 7 to 14 March 2015.
The 116 attendees at the seminar learnt from Mr Alty’s views on the future of IP, which included topics on innovation, creativity and law reform with a focus on designs and copyright in the UK. Mr Alty also discussed the impact of the IP law reforms on businesses, institutes of higher learning and on creators.
